Award-Winning Barbershop Discovery App, Funded by the Indonesian Ministry of Education
The Challenge
For customers, finding a barbershop often involves guesswork about wait times and service quality. For barbershop owners, attracting new customers and managing customer flow is a constant struggle. 'CutsConnect' was created to solve this disconnect by building an innovative, real-time platform for the barbershop industry.
My Role & The Solution
As Team Leader and Mobile Developer, I coordinated this project from its initial concept to a fully published Android application on the Google Play Store.
Our proposal was awarded national funding in the 2024 Student Creativity Program (PKM), selected from a highly competitive pool of over 33,000 submissions by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Diktiristek).
I was responsible for the entire mobile app development using Flutter. I built a dual-interface platform to serve two distinct user groups, utilizing the Cubit state management pattern and Firebase for back-end services.
For Customers: A real-time directory to discover local barbershops, view services, and check live queue information.
For Owners: A dedicated management portal to update their shop's operating hours, service prices, and live customer queues directly from the app.
The Results & The Impact
The project's success is demonstrated by several key achievements:
Secured National Funding: The project was recognized and funded by the Indonesian government, a testament to its innovation and viability.
Successfully Published on Google Play: I managed the entire development and release lifecycle, culminating in the successful launch of the 'CutsConnect' app on the Google Play Store.
Positive Public Reception: The app has received positive feedback from public users, including a 5-star review praising it as "Cool".
