FIK Fetch: An Immersive VR Architectural Experience in Unity
The Challenge
This project was created as a final assignment for the Virtual and Augmented Reality course. The primary goal was to transform a static 3D environment of a futuristic building concept into a dynamic, deeply immersive, and explorable virtual space using the Unity engine.
My Role & The Solution
As the project's sole VR Developer, I was responsible for the entire technical implementation, turning the static 3D world into a living, interactive VR experience.
Working as a two-person team, my partner focused on the architectural design while I focused on programming the user's interaction with the environment. My key contributions included:
Writing custom C# scripts to build a smooth and intuitive user locomotion system for seamless navigation.
Configuring player interaction with the environment using Unity's XR Interaction Toolkit.
Collaborating closely with the designer to technically integrate all 3D models and realize the architectural vision in the final application.
The Results & The Impact
The result is an interactive VR application prototype that provides an immersive 3D experience of a futuristic architectural design. Through VR interaction, users are invited to explore spaces, observe unique architectural elements, and feel the atmosphere of the 'Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Future Technology' hall.
