GiA: A 3D Adventure Game in Unity

The Challenge

As a final project for the Game Design and Development course, the challenge was to create a captivating 3D adventure game from the ground up. The goal was to deliver a thrilling and unique experience for players, blending elements of exploration, combat, and nature into a cohesive and playable prototype.

My Role & The Solution

As the Team Leader and Game Developer, I led the project from its initial concept to a functional prototype. Working in a two-person team where my partner was the Game Designer, my primary responsibility was to translate the game design into reality.

I programmed all core systems in Unity (C#), including:

  • Character controls and movement

  • Combat mechanics

  • Challenge and obstacle logic

In addition to the core development, I managed the project's scope and workflow, ensuring our team worked cohesively to bring the game to life within the two-month timeline.

The Results & The Impact

The result is a playable game prototype of 'GiA - Girl in Adventure,' which successfully provides an immersive experience of exploring and overcoming obstacles with a skilled character. This project demonstrates my ability to lead a creative-technical project and program core gameplay mechanics. The main project deliverables included a Game Design Document (GDD) and the playable game prototype.
